Building empathy!
"Τριγυρίζοντας την Ευρώπη
στα παπούτσια κάποιου άλλου"
Three different games; three different experiential activities: "follow the leader", "the mirror" and "the circle"!
Each activity aims to express the uniqueness and the beauty of being different! We also used two videos to emphasize on the topic! After all we're all equal but different!
First activity: "Follow the leader": The students were asked to line up and follow the 'leader' repeating what she/he does. Then they take turns and from 'followers' become the 'leaders'. After a while they coordinate and enjoy circulating from followers to leaders.
Second activity: "The mirror": Now they are asked to work in pairs and 'reflect' their partners' movements! the results are funny at the beginning but as they keep working together they even predict their partners movements!
Third activity: "The circle": In circle the students are asked to express their thoughts and feelings based on one thing they felt really proud of and another one they didn't really take pride in!
In the end, the children were asked to take down their thoughts and feelings created from the "follow the leader", "the mirror" and "the circle" games and here's what they wrote:
